John joined Tursec Security Group in November 2025. In his current role as the Security Operations Director (SOD), John provides advanced technical leadership and coordination in the planning, development, implementation and operations of Tursec-wide, integrated security systems, Safety, QA and to ensure security teams are maximized to deliver strategic initiatives and business objectives.
He served and retired from Kenya Défense Forces (Kenya Air Force) as Personnel Administrator as well as Safety Instructor in Kenya Defence Forces Disaster Response Unit as a Sergeant. High achiever with impressive record of personal, commercial, military and professional training and practical high level operational experience. Displays strong planning and execution skills in operations and resource management. Skilled in viewing strategic objectives broadly and in identifying the implication of plans and tasks and acts proactively in the anticipation of outcomes and consequences. Highly effective in undertaking complex technical work for critical, analytical and conceptual thinking. Proven ability to challenge the status quo, think outside the box and facilitate creative, workable solutions. A role model, with strong leadership skills and proven capacity to motivate and develop people. Superior communication and negotiation skills that enables effective liaison at all levels. Working Tullow Oil Kenya B.V as Project Manager offered him a vast array of exposure and great experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree course in Criminology and Security Studies from Egerton University, Diploma in Disaster Management from Kenyatta University, Basic SCUBA Diving, National Open Water training, International Surface Lifeguard, International Pool Lifeguard, Level one Certificate in Swimming Instructor, Level three Certificate in Senior Life Saving, Kenya Air Force Advance Water Survival, Para Trooper Course, Personnel Administration and Kenya Defence Forces Recruit Training, Kenya Forces Technical College.
He’s a solid leader with vast experience in conducting security risk assessments, and ability to provide high-quality security training to local staff, familiar with challenges to remote security contexts.
